
Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr held Saturday a meeting with the governorate's security chief Essam el Hamaly.
The get-together took up security preparations for the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday to participate in the inauguration of the activities of the Chinese cultural year.
The inauguration ceremony will take place in Luxor Temple at the same time of the passage of 60 years since the beginning of the Egyptian-Chinese ties.
Badr announced emergency case to prepare for the historic visit, underlining on the importance of showing that Luxor governorate is safe via this event.
The visit will promote the Chinese tourism movement in Egypt and in Luxor in particular.
The security apparatuses under the security chief have outlined a plan to secure the visit of the Chinese president.
The plan includes intensifying the presence of the security forces around tourist and archaeological sites in the governorate and around the international airport as well as setting checkpoints.
