
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Saturday chaired a meeting on life-threatening slums in Egypt.
The minister of slums and urban development, the Cairo governor, the Cairo security chief, the chairman of the holding company for construction and development and the facilities police chief took part in the meeting.
Laila Eskandar, minister of slums and urban development, said that 356 dilapidated slums were surveyed nationwide, some of them have been developed and the others are underway.
Cairo Governor Galal Mostafa Saeed gave a presentation on the total number of slum and people living in each region, especially Batn el Baqara district.
