Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab called on ministers Wednesday to pay more attention to securing the governmental facilities
ahead of the imminent opening of the new Suez Canal project.
During a cabinet's meeting Wednesday, the premier entrusted Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli with drawing up a plan to develop Arish city and provide North Sinai residents with the various services and basic needs.
Mahlab took that decision after his recent visit to the Arish city.
With regard to the Inner-city neighborhoods, Mahlab said that he gives high priority to the development of these districts in cooperation with the bodies concerned, pointing to the key steps taken to develop districts of Imbaba, Al Darb al Ahmar and Alwaraq.
Also, he called for the necessity of improving schools in these districts in order to be an example for development.
All ministers were tasked by Mahlab to prepare a report after the Eidul Fitr vacation on the mechanisms for cutting off the government spending, adding that he will not allow increasing the ministries' spending.
In a related context, the prime minister urged the ministers to maximize revenues by several ways, including the best usage of the state's resources and collect the state's dues.
