Bahrainis headed today to their respective polling centres and cast their ballots in the run-off parliamentary and municipal elections. "The massive participation reflects Bahrain's patriotic spirit and awareness of the crucial importance of voting for the future of Bahrain", Sitra Mall Public Polling Centre Chief Sami Al-Bousmeet said.
He hailed the massive participation of voters at Sitra Mall, who turned out to elect their parliamentary and municipal representatives. "The number of voters was good at the beginning but the turn-out grew steadily until the closure of the polling centres", he said.
In a statement to Bahraini News Agency (BNA), he said that some unregistered citizens headed to the polling centre and expressed their desire to cast their ballots. They were advised to update their data and register in the electoral lists as per the law provisions so as to be eligible to vote in the future. Mr. Al-Bousmeet said he expected voters to become more aware in the coming years which would enable them to avert mistakes and become eligible to cast their ballots.
