Matrouh security foiled an attempt by 144 persons to illegally cross the borders into Libya.
The arrestees, including 13 Sudanese nationals, were seized in a military zone in western Salloum.
Egypt has been trying very hard to fight illegal immigration through keeping a close eye on desert paths and mountainous areas used by infiltrators to cross borders into neighboring states.
