May 31 declared as world solidarity day with Gaza
London - Arab Today
The world campaign for the support of women boats to Gaza declared May 31 as the world solidarity day with Gaza in commemoration of the sixth anniversary of the Israeli attack on Mavi Marmara solidarity ship.
In a press statement on Saturday, Dr. Issam Yousuf, head of the world popular committee for the support of Gaza, called for massive action to end the Israeli siege on Gaza Strip.
He asked the international community to protect the women boats heading to Gaza and guarantee their arrival to the Strip with no objection or interception by Israeli navy.
He also urged for adopting the Palestinian demands of establishing a harbor in Gaza and providing the floating power plant.
He called on Egypt to open Rafah border crossing and to establish a commercial zone with Gaza Strip.
Yousuf said, “The siege is a massive punishment and a crime against humanity in Palestine”, and called for tabling the Israeli crimes at the international courts in order to prosecute Israeli army and political leaders.

to 'eternal style' of late Alaia
Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations. It includes the dress worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell, his longtime friend and muse, when she led
