The second meeting of Arab chiefs of staff started in Cairo on Saturday under Egypt's Mahmoud Hegazi.
The meeting, which is held at the Arab League General Secretariat, is attended by AL chief Nabil el Araby and his deputy, Ahmed bin Helli.
Talks will take up the formation of a joint Arab military force to confront threats to Arab national security, particularly the threat of terrorist organizations.
The meeting comes in implementation of an Arab Summit resolution on March 29.
The participants will probe mechanisms, as well as technical and financial measures, needed to form the joint force.
