The metro authority in Cairo is on high alert ahead of the fourth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.
Chairman of the metro authority Ali Fadali said Saturday that he is confident the Egyptian people will not be fooled by vicious attempts to undermine security and stability.
The metro authority is coordinating with transport police to protect passengers, Fadali said.
Subway services will be intensified tomorrow along the three metro lines, he added.
A plan has been outlined to protect all metro stations, Fadali assured.
Troops will be deployed at stations and on trains, he made it clear.
A crisis-management committee has been formed to follow up train movement, the chairman further said.
Maintenance teams are also available to fix any sudden malfunction that might affect train movement, Fadali said.
The authority is still receiving complaints, inquiries and suggestions on its hotline 16048, he noted.
