Minya Governor Salah el Din Ziyada met on Tuesday with a delegation from al Azhar Sheikhdom, now visiting here to offer condolences over the murder of 21 innocent Egyptian Copts in Libya this week by Daesh terrorist group.
On behalf of Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, the delegation members announced their support for the Egyptian Armed Forces in the anti-terror war.
They also called on the Egyptian people to close ranks behind the Egyptian leadership to face terrorism.
Ziyada, for his part, hailed Egypt's airstrikes against Daesh in Libya, stressing that the Egyptian blood will not go in vain.
"Despite the various challenges now threatening the state, I am completely sure that Egypt will always stand as the state of security, stability and moderate Islam," he concluded.
