
Minya Governor Major General Salah el Din Ziyada has mourned the death of 21 Egyptians, who were beheaded by Daesh in Libya Sunday.
Ziyada condoled with families of the victims on Monday.
He described as "cowardly" and "abominable" the crime that aimed at breaking the will of the Egyptian state.
Ziyada urged the Egyptian people to unite to face the terrorists.
The governorate will set up a funeral tent for the victims at St. Mark Church in Samalout at 12.00 Monday to receive mourners, the governor said.
He directed the health directorate in the Upper Egyptian city to declare a state of emergency to receive any urgent cases at the Samalout General Hospital.
He also ordered a local unit in Samalout to offer all kind of support for families of the victims.
