The Children’s and Maternity Hospital in Makkah conducted a mock evacuation operation with the Civil Defense, Saudi Red Crescent Authority and Health Department on Monday, to test safety and emergency measures.
Osama Alandidjani, director of safety and security at the hospital, said a “fire” was started in the caesarian section of the hospital, which required the rescue of 15 people, 12 of whom were “injured.”
Anas ibn Abdul Hamid said that such emergency tests are carried out four times a year to check whether the hospital has adequate safety measures. This helps to train staff members in emergency situations, he said.
