Mohammed bin Rashid receives grand imam of al-Azhar

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, tonight received Ahmed al-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Egypt's al-Azhar and President of al-Azhar University.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between U.A.E. and Egypt, in the area of Islamic affairs of mutual interest in particular.
The two sides stressed on the importance of moderation, tolerance between Muslims, and between Muslims and non-Muslims, promotion of the culture of straight behaviour in line with Prophet Mohammad's Tradition in which he said that he was sent as a messenger by Allah to achieve the culmination of high moral standards.
H.H. sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid congratulated el-Tayeb on being named the Islamic Personality of the Year by the 18th session of the Dubai Holy Quran Award.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also praised al-Tayyeb's positive role in promoting inter-faith dialogue and moderation in his participations and his books which were translated to several languages as they reflect the bright true image of Islam.
Present at the meeting were H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Ruler's Court, Ibrahim Bu Malha, Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, and members of the delegation accompanying al-Tayyeb on his current visit to U.A.E.
