
Morocco on Wednesday received the body of the pilot of F-16 fighter jet whose plane crashed during its participation in a raid for the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen, a statement by the Moroccan Armed Forces General Command said.
A military funeral was held for pilot Yassein Al Bahtei upon instructions from Moroccan King Mohammad VI at the military airbase in Sale town, near the capital Rabat.
Top civilian and military brass attended the funeral.
Mediation efforts sponsored by the former UN envoy to Yemen Maghrabi bin Omar bore fruit as Morocco received the body of its pilot whose plane crashed in the Yemeni territories
