
Muharraq is gearing up to The Kingdom of Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
Preparations are in full swing at the Municipality of Maharraq to mark the two annual national occasions in style.
A giant greetings card is being installed on Shaikh Khalifa Causeway, amid calls for citizens to turn-out massively and celebrate as their country embarks on the path of democratic reforms and sustainable modernization, led by HM the King with utmost statesmanship.
"The municipality is also decorating all avenues and streets in Muharraq in cooperation with Bahrain Airport Company and Tamkeen (Bahrain Apple of My Eye" (Bahrain Nour Al-Ain)", Technical Services director Intisar Al-Kubaisi said.
She pointed out that a specialized company has been hired to decorate avenues and streets with colourfoul lights on a distance of 10 kilometres, including 90 palm-trees and 150 other trees.
She congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
She also extended congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women as well as the people of Bahrain.
