Head of the National Council for Human Rights Mohamed Fayeq on Thursday called for putting an end to violations of human rights all over the world.
In a statement on the occasion of celebrating World Human Rights Day, Fayeq called on the international community and the United Nations to put an end to foreign intervention in many countries around the world.
He stressed that such an intervention fueled civil wars and led to the outbreaks of sectarian violence.
Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10. It commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In 1950, the Assembly passed resolution 423 (V), inviting all States and interested organizations to observe December 10, of each year as Human Rights Day.
