
The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani confirmed the need of the cooperation of everyone in order to form the next federal government.
Barzani said in a press statement: "There is no doubt that we, in Kurdistan, have our demands. And the demands of the Kurds are obvious, such as the application of Article 140 of the Constitution, the issue of the Peshmerga, Budget and oil, and we decided to discuss these demands with Baghdad."
He added: "We understand that all these things cannot be implemented within two weeks, but there was talk about the time limit where there was insistence by all Kurdish forces about the need for a timeframe for these demands."
On the issue of the displaced and the aid, he said: "What worries us in Kurdistan region is having a lot of pressure on us, and yet, the share of the Kurdistan region of the general budget cut by Baghdad since 8 months, and this forms a very heavy humanitarian burden on the region. "
With respect to Article 140, he made it clear that "It's a constitutional issue and it is necessary to end this issue with Baghdad in the framework of the Iraqi constitution, and we will demand legally and under the Iraqi constitution to solve this issue."
Regarding the guarantees between Erbil and Baghdad, Barzani said: "There are no guarantees, and we have a bitter experience with Maliki's government. And we wish this time is not to repeat those mistakes that have brought the Iraqis to this stage."
In terms of sending the employees' salaries by Baghdad he noted that Baghdad did not send any salaries.
On the international humanitarian and military aid to the Kurdistan region, Barzani said: "We thank all those countries that have helped the region, and this issue is not concerning the government of the Kurdistan region only, because this war need international coordination to confront the terrorists., And we are yet to believe that the international community has taken good steps on this issue. "
