NHRC chief calls for strengthening partnership with OHCHR

Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al-Marri has called for strengthening the partnership between the NHRC and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
This came during a meeting between Dr. Al Marri here today and the High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid bin Raad .
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen partnership and activation of mechanisms between the NHRC and the Office of the High Commissioner for human rights of the United Nations, through consultation and organization of events in all areas of common interest.
They also discussed a proposal to organize an International Conference on "the role of the Office of the High Commissioner for human rights in the Arab region to be organized by the NHRC in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for human rights .
