
Northern Governor Ali bin Al-Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al Asfoor said that the governorate has prepared various programmes aimed at promoting the participation in the elections next Saturday.
He encouraged voters to assume their constitutional responsibilities and exercise their electoral rights by choosing the most competent candidates in the forthcoming parliamentary and municipal elections, away from violence and intimidation.
He asserted that programmes include sending text messages that carry patriotic values and the role of every citizen in the performance of the national responsibility, awareness campaigns through banners as well as direct meetings with the citizens in the weekly governorate's Majlis and lectures conducted in collaboration with Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD).
On the governorate's support for candidates, Northern Governor underlined the legal regulations regarding running for elections, saying that the governorate's role is to ensure the success of the electoral process and highlight this remarkable national event.
He affirmed the governorate's keenness to deal with candidates on an equal footing.
He stressed the importance of the participation with the relevant authorities at governmental bodies by providing facilities and services at the polling stations, constant field follow-up until the election day and the implementation of the security plan discussed by the Governorate Coordination Council so as to ensure the safety of voters and candidates.
Al Asfoor expressed thanks and appreciations to President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and the Elections Executive Director Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainin and all related committees for the exerted efforts, adding that voting for competent candidates promotes the path of democracy in legislation and monitoring and enhances performance, which supports the coming legislative terms with more achievements.
He stressed that every voter should assume their responsibilities and take the right decision by participating in the elections in order to serve the high national interests.
