
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani condemned the terrorist attacks committed by Daesh extremist group in Libya's Sirte city leaving dozens of civilians killed and displaced.
In a statement issued on Monday, Madani said that these heinous acts are considered an escalation that harms the regional peace and security.
He further underlined the importance of uniting efforts of the international community to support the Libyan people so as to achieve security and stability.
The OIC chief urged the Libyan parties to take part in the dialogue sponsored by the United Nations (UN) so as to protect Libya from the dangers of terrorism.
