The Organization of Islamic Conference voiced hope the Geneva 3 conference on Syria, to be held on Friday, would bring about constructive results on Syria.
In a statement on Thursday, the OIC hoped the gathering would come out with positive results contributing to a settlement of the Syrian crisis as soon as possible.
The OIC also asserted the need for the parties concerned to agree during their talks on a ceasefire and to immediately start a political process aiming to form a transitional government in Syria and hold elections in accordance with the outcome of the Geneva 1 conference.
OIC Secretary-General Iyad Madani renewed the pan-Islamic organization's readiness to effectively contribute to pro-Syrian efforts.
