
Undersecretary of the Saudi Foreign Ministry Prince Turki bin Mohammad bin Saud said Sunday the emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) discussed the political and security unrest in Yemen.
"The conferees were unanimous on supporting the internationally-recognized legitimate authorities in Yemen and rejecting any unilateral moves by Yemeni parties," he told reporters at the OIC HQ here.
"They underlined the importance of the GCC initiative and the outcomes of the latest rounds of national dialogue as basic points of reference for stabilizing the country," Prince Turki revealed.
The meeting reaffirmed support to the GCC quest for a resolution by the UN Security Council under Chapter VII of the UN Charter to counter the risks posed by the coup authorities to President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi, the legitimacy, security and stability in Yemen, he went on.
The Saudi official added that the conferees urged releasing President Hadi who is under house arrest by the Houthi group.
