Oman declares first day of Eid Al Fitr

The Omani Moon-Sighting Main Committee announced that Tuesday August 30 will be the final day of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Wednesday August 31 will be the first day of Shawal or first day of Eid Al Fitr, reports Oman News Agency. The Committee added that the astronomical statistics that confirmed the conjunction of the absence of Shawal crescent on Ramadan 29th for this year with the absence of the sun, accordingly it will not be possible to see the crescent this day in most of the Sultanate's region.
