
The Omani Foreign Minister today welcomed the framework deal between the Group 5+1 framework deal with Iran on its nuclear programme describing it "an historic agreement".
In a statement, carried by Oman News Agency (ONA), the Ministry said the Sultanate of Oman followed with great concern the positive results which led to the framework deal between the six major powers and the Islamic Republic of Iran Oman which was announced last night in Swiss city of Lausanne.
The statement added that the Sultanate shares all states and peoples the great pleasure over this historic agreement which will constitute a basic and important stage on the way towards a final solution by next June 30 which will also usher in a new stage towards further regional and international security and stability.
In this regard, the Sultanate expresses great appreciation to the six states and the Islamic Republic of Iran for the aforementioned historic agreement as well as the understanding and security responsibility of all the negotiations during the previous days and years, the statement said.
