His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday, directed the Chairman of Chiefs of Staff to revisit the recruitment approach and military services for officers to upgrade the capabilities of the armed forces and their personnel.
In a letter sent to the King’s Military Adviser, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Meshaal al-Zabin, His Majesty said a reconsideration of the military recruitment method would attract skilled young manpower and encourage the youths to join the ranks of the armed forces.
His Majesty said this would entrench true citizenship and national belonging for recruits, enable the youth to earn expertise and skills and hone the resources and energies for creativity and excellence while enhancing discipline.
