
Speaker of People's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa underlined Tuesday Algeria's commitment to the unity of Arab countries face to the threats of division, said the Lower House in a communiqué.
During his meeting with Speaker of Arab Parliament Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, Ould Khelifa emphasized Algeria's commitment to the protection of Arab countries from the threats of division and recalled the its "sincere" efforts within the Arab League for the unification of Arab ranks.
Lower House's speaker stressed the importance of the Arab joint action to address the current challenges and threats posed to the region.
He also underlined the challenges posed to Algeria owing to its wide borders with countries that are witnessing political and security crises, said the communiqué.
In this regard, he reiterated Algeria's commitment to the principle of rejecting foreign interference in the internal affairs of countries, and advocating dialogue as the only means to resolve crises.
He also recalled the efforts part of Algiers Process to make the Malian parties engage into dialogue to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in their country.
Ould Khelifa reiterated Algeria's support to dialogue between the Libyans for the preservation of the unity of their country and the building of its national institutions away from any foreign interference.
Lower House's speaker said that the support to the right of Palestinian people at regional and international meetings was a duty for Arab MPs at both the national level and within the Arab Parliament.
For his part, Al-Jarwan hailed Algeria's efforts and its support to the Arab causes.
He underlined that the main objective of the Arab Parliament is to make the Arab diplomacy in the service of Arab interests and establish close relations with the rest of the world in the interest of all.
