Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Gamal al Shobaki said on Thursday that his country's participation in the anti-terror 34-state Islamic military alliance has a symbolic significance.
"Despite the Israeli occupation, Palestine will remain part of this nation," he said, adding that Palestine's participation in the Islamic military coalition aims at securing the Palestinian people.
He also praised a decision by the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) to open an office in Ramallah within few weeks.
Shobaki warned of hazards threatening Al Aqsa Mosque, quoting Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying that Israel could easily destroy Al-Aqsa mosque, but emphatically does not want to.
