Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas informed on Friday at his residence in Cairo, the Algerian ambassador to Egypt and permanent delegate to the Arab League, Nadir Larbaoui, of the situation in Palestine, especially in occupied al-Quds in a context of deadlocked peace negotiations.
The Palestinian president also updated the Algerian Ambassador on the Israeli practices aimed for the judaization of Al-Quds and aggression against the Al-Aqsa
Algeria's ambassador said that the Palestinian president had voiced "greetings and appreciation to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika for his positions and those of Algeria in support of the Palestinian cause."
Larbaoui expressed to the Palestinian president "the solidarity of the Algerian leadership and people with the brotherly Palestinian people" and their "full support for their struggle and legitimate claims to the establishment of their independent state with al-Quds as a capital."
The Palestinian president also updated the Algerian Ambassador on the Israeli practices aimed for the Judaization of Al-Quds and aggression against the Al-Aqsa.
The efforts made by the Palestinian Authority at the international level, including at the UN Security Council to demand a deadline to end the occupation and the establishment of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders, were broached.
Algeria's Ambassador to Cairo said that the meeting had also focused on the strong and historical relations between Algeria and Palestine and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Referring to the situation in the Arab world, the Palestinian president said he was "totally confident in the ability of Algeria, under the wise direction of President Bouteflika, to effectively contribute to the strengthening of Arab solidarity, given its place at the regional and international level."
