
Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas hailed Sunday in Cairo "the full and unwavering support of Algeria" for the Palestinian cause and the support of President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and the the Algerian people for the Palestinian people.
Ramtane Lamamra was received in Cairo on Sunday by the Palestinian president who hailed "the absolute and unwavering support of Algeria for the Palestinian cause" and the support of President Bouteflika and the Algerian people for the Palestinian people through "political and financial support and the intensification of efforts and initiatives aimed at ending the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The Palestinian president also hailed the solidarity of the Algerian people with the Palestinian people in these difficult circumstances," the statement added.
The meeting was an opportunity to "review the latest developments of the situation in the Gaza Strip, especially after the resumption of Israeli aggression against Gaza, and stress the importance of an urgent action to stop this aggression," the same source stressed.
Lamamra reiterated "Algeria's condemnation of this barbaric aggression and its firm support to the brotherly Palestinian people to enable them to recover their legitimate rights to the end of occupation and the establishment of an independent state with El Quds as its capital," the statement said.
