The Israeli NGO "Peace Now" took to their website on to react to a plan to build 2,610 housing units in the east Jerusalem neighborhood Givat Hamatos, the Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday.
The decision is destructive to the two-state solution, the advocacy group said in an official statement. "Like the E1 plan, it divides the potential Palestinian state and blocks the possibility to connect the Palestinian neighborhoods in south Jerusalem with the future Palestinian state."
Peace Now pinned the blame on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, whose policies both in the West Bank and in east Jerusalem, "destroy the possibility of a two-state solution."
