The Kurdish Peshmerga troops repelled an attack by Daesh militant group on their frontlines in north-west Iraq, killing 34 elements of them.
Makhmour Al Barzani, a Kurdish official, said the armed clashes continued for four hours, noting that the situation is currently stable in the area that witnessed the clashes.
As many as 300 Daesh militants, from Tunisia, Morocco and Europe, backed by eight vehicles, took part in the attack on the Peshmerga.
Peshmerga troops have stopped Daesh of carrying out any suicide car bombings after digging several trenches around their positions.
