The Council praised the efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II which began immediately after the fighter jet of the pilot was downed and he was captured by the Daesh terrorists group.
The Council underlines the absolute confidence in the professionalism of the Jordanian negotiator, who represents the reference in negotiation process with the IS, calling for the assessment of the circumstances surrounding the issue and the difficulty in trusting IS or the seriousness of its provocative offer .
The Council listened to a briefing that included negotiating stages and obstacles facing the Jordanian negotiator, which confirmed the presence of bad intentions on the part of the IS where it was using the pilot in sideline negotiations, and the IS did not offer any serious deal assuring his release.
The Parliament underlines the importance of maintaining a position of strength for the Jordanian official and popular position, and of standing behind the armed forces to confront the adversary in these crucial moments that Jordan has been experiencing. "The situation requires all institutions and individuals to pool in their efforts to prevent anyone to stir up unrest and strife sought by the IS," the Parliament added.
