Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab performed the Friday prayer at al-Sayyida Nafisa mosque in Cairo.
Egypt's former mufti Ali Gomaa led the worshipers.
During the weekly sermon, Gomaa called for facing rioters who seek to foment anarchy in Egypt.
He also slammed the terror attacks that struck North Sinai last night and left dozens of military men and civilians dead and injured.
Gomaa, meanwhile, offered condolences to the families of slain servicemen and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The perpetrators of these terrorist attacks have no any link with Islam, Gomaa reiterated.
"The plots of those vandals will never bear fruit," Gomaa said, praying for Allah to accept the slain military personnel as martyrs.
