PNA proposes replacing constitutional council by constitutional court

The leader of the National Algerian Party (PNA), Youcef Hamidi, has proposed Monday in Algiers to replace the Constitutional Council by a constitutional court.
In a statement to the press at the end of his meeting with Minister of State, Principal Private Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic Ahmed Ouyahia, as part of the consultations on the revision of the Constitution, Hamidi underlined that the constitutional court "should be made up of thirteen members instead of twelve and in which the outgoing president will automatically become a member."
The PNA also called for two-term limit for members of Parliament, the officialization of the Tamazight language, the constitutionalization of the National Liberation Front (FLN) and the martyr as symbols of the nation," he said.
The PNA also made proposals related to the protection of the citizens' rights, the vulnerable classes of the society, particularly minors without guardians, the homeless and the destitute.
