Despite showers, the population of Algiers celebrated Eid El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) Saturday with and deep wishes of "unshakable" peace for the country and an "unflinching" brotherhood between them.
"Eid looks auspicious," a father told two of his neighbors, after offered his wishes on this occasion and spoke about the heavy rains that lashed the capital overnight and early in the morning.
"It is often the case, the feast of El Eid holidays is by its Baraka (blessings) as evidenced by the precipitations we expected as they carry freshness," one of his neighbours retorted.
After completing the Eid prayer at" Ettaqwa" mosque in Bab-El-Oued, believers met outside to exchange wishes of "peace", to show "brotherhood" and to comment "the weather news before leaving."
As the prayer hall of this place of worship could not host the large number of the faithful, latecomers were forced to spawn a hypothetical spot on the sidewalk, and even a portion of the adjoining roadway.
Speakers broadcasting the prayer of Eid enabled people around to absord, from the first hour of the morning, the religious atmosphere of this day, blessed for Algerians like the rest of the Muslim community who share and express the same wishes on this occasion.
We can also see hugs and other accolades accompanying these wishes during the two days of El Eid.
"It is heart-warming to see so many scenes of communion and sharing that should be generalized for the rest of the year to banish those of violence and bad-mood, which unfortunately tend to escalate and take many forms," said a man who was dragging the sheep from its horn to scarify it.
