President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika called on Thursday the Algerian people to “support the brotherly Palestinian people and that their generosity be at the level of their vulnerability to the painful events.”
“It would be desirable that our people, in all their categories (elite, artists, athletes and others) rush, as usual, to generously help their brothers in wounded Palestine,” said President Bouteflika in a message on the occasion of the opening of the International Festival of Djemila, read on his behalf by Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic Mohamed Ali Boughazi.
“The active solidarity with the Palestinian people in their ordeal is a moral and humanitarian duty more than a duty towards the Arab nation,” said Bouteflika, underlining that this solidarity “is not strange to our generous people, steeped in chivalrous values and support to the oppressed and vulnerable people, values rooted in them, in their religion and glorious history.”
President Bouteflika also expressed his “gratitude” for the organization of this major annual cultural event and wished success and pleasant stay to the participants.
