
President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika chaired Sunday in Algiers a meeting on the security situation at the southern and eastern borders of Algeria and its efforts for peace and stability in Mali and Libya.
“His Excellency, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President of the Republic, held, this Sunday 21 September, a meeting on the security situation at our southern and eastern borders and on the efforts made by Algeria to facilitate achieving peace and stability in Mali and Libya,” said a communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic.
“This meeting was marked by the participation of senior civilian officials and top military and security officers, including Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Deputy Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah,” said the source.
