President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Wednesday board members of the Popular Alignment Body for the Protection of National Gains, led by Yehia Hussein al-Arashi, member of Shura Council.
During the meeting, Hadi talked about a number of issues Yemen has been experiencing since the eruption of 2011's crisis, saying that the country has overcome various challenges and difficulties until holding the National Dialogue Conference, noting also steps and measures taken to handle that crisis.
Hadi touched upon a number of national issues related to the current crisis with the Houthi group and his continued contacts with regional and international leaders to solve this crisis, saying some proposals are not related to the economic reforms and they are only manipulating emotions and exploiting needs of the Yemeni people.
The President noted that the sectarian conflict which erupted in Damaj area between Houthis and Salafies caused the country to spend YR 1.5 billion in order to handle that conflict.
"Whenever the army and security forces get involved in any battle against al-Qaeda militants such as the latest battle in al-Mahfad and Azan areas, and the preparation for another battle in Hadhramout province, the Houthi group started battles in Hashed and seized Amran province despite their pledges not to attack Amran,” President Hadi said, adding that Whenever a deal is reached with al-Houthi group, they breach that deal.
"We always avoid the language of fanaticism and sectarian, hope to overcome any logic of sectarian and we are always working on it,'' Hadi noted.
Hadi said that controlling entrances of the capital Sana'a by tribal and armed crowds is unacceptable.
"The capital Sana'a was surprised at its entrances by tribal armed crowds which imposed unacceptable situation rejected popularly, politically, nationally, regionally and internationally,'' the President stated.
He confirmed that he had received various calls from the U.S. administration, UNSC and from a number of Arab and international leaders, where they stressed the importance of not accepting any rebellion against the national consensus in Yemen and all calls strongly condemned the acts of Houthi militants.
Hadi highly praised efforts of the Body which pour in the supreme interest of Yemen and maintaining the national gains.
