Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi Wednesday called on the international community, particularly the 10 countries and organizations sponsoring the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, to help the country overcome its troubles.
Hadi, during a meeting with Head of the European Union (EU) mission in Yemen Petina Moschiat, said there were forces, which he did not name, in the north and south of Yemen that wanted to drag the country to the pre-revolution era. He was referring to the activities carried out by the armed Houthi groups in Sanaa and other governorates.
Hadi was quoted by official SABA news agency as warning against an all-out chaos.
He underlined that Yemen has no choice but to complete the transitional phase in line with the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, as well as relevant UN resolutions.
Moschiat said compliance with the GCC initiative was very important, urging all political parties in yemen to join hands to end the crises.
Sponsors of the initiative are Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, the US, Russia, France, China and the EU.
