
President Abdel Fattah al Sisi arrived in Madrid on Wednesday, kicking off a two-day visit to Spain.
The visit is meant to enhance to cooperation between both countries in various fields.
Sisi was received at the airport by Spain's Minister for Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel along with Egyptian diplomats in Spain.
President Sisi was given a red-carpet reception upon his arrival as the national anthems of Egypt and Spain were played.
Sisi headed to attend a dinner banquet hosted by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in the presence of Sisi's accompanying delegation, which groups ministers of foreign affairs, transport, investment, petroleum and electricity.
On Thursday morning, Sisi will attend a business breakfast with Spanish Economy and Competitiveness Minister Luis de Guindos and members of the Egyptian Spanish business council along with 16 major Spanish companies.
The talks will tackle ways to lure more Spanish investment opportunities in Egypt, particularly in Suez Canal zone along with new incentives offered by the Egyptian government to stimulate foreign investments.
Later, Sisi will head to the Spanish royal palace to hold bilateral talks with King Felipe VI to discuss means of enhancing cooperation.
President Sisi is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the Spanish premier, followed by an expanded meeting to discuss ways to increase volume of trade and investments, activate cultural relations along with regional and international issues of mutual concern, mainly fighting against terrorism and illegal immigration.
Sisi and Rajoy are set to witness the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
Later, Sisi will attend a launch banquet hosted by King Felipe VI.
President Sisi will head to the headquarters of parliament to meet with the speaker and a number of lawmakers.
