
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail reviewed on Monday with Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli the designs of the new administrative capital’s first phase on an area of 10,000 feddans.
The news phase will include 12 government buildings, a new building for the Cabinet, a district for embassies, a business district, a big park, a large conference center, a center for international exhibitions and 30,000 housing units.
A number of ministries are expected to be moved to the new capital in the first phase.
Meanwhile, the minister said that 103,000 units have already been established as part of Egypt’s social housing project and that the 154,000 were still under construction.
This is in addition to 200,000 units, to be established in one year upon directives from the Egyptian president, the minister told the prime minister
