Prosecution investigations into the car-bomb attack on the national security building in Qalyoubiya said the attack left a five-meter crater.
A white-colored pick-up vehicle was laden with explosives, the prosecution said, adding that the driver parked near the building, walked out of the car and fled by a motorcycle that waited him in the scene.
The car exploded before security personnel reach the car, leaving severe damages in the building, its external walls, as well as a number of nearby buildings, including the complex of courts and prosecution offices, an Azharian institute, Mohamed Ali Museum and a number of schools, investigations revealed.
Manifestations of the damage reached about 500 meters away from the scene, according to the prosecution.
Twenty-two people, including seven policemen and one police officer, were injured in the attack that rocked the four-storey building of the national security branc of Shubra El Kheima, Qalyoubiya governorate, in the wee hours of Thursday.
