HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi reaffirmed that the State of Qatar's stance is fundamental towards backing and assisting the Palestinian People.
HE Al-Khulaifi referred to the firm position of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in supporting and advocating the Palestinian cause at all international forums.
Speaking at an Organization of Islamic Cooperation's meeting, HE Al-Khulaifi lauded the tireless efforts led by HH the Emir since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip in order to stop shedding the Palestinians' blood.
He pointed that the State of Qatar, through its Foreign Minister Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, said it did not launch an initiative on ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, but it has conveyed the terms suggested by the Palestinian side, which Qatar believes to be fair terms.
HE the Advisory Council's Speaker hailed the Palestinian people's historic steadfastness in the face of unjustified Israeli aggression.
He called on the International community to assume its responsibility in keeping international peace and security, put firm pressure on Israel to stop its aggression on Gaza Strip and end the unjust siege in addition to opening the crossings for the Gazans who have been suffering, for over seven years, from lack of basic human life necessities. He also called for releasing all the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails including the Chairman and members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
"As Parliamentarians, we should discuss the most effective means to support and advocate for our brothers in Palestine in order to recover their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on their national soil, with its capital in East Jerusalem," HE Al-Khulaifi said stressing the importance of Palestinian national reconciliation.
HE Mohamed bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi affirmed that the Palestinian Cause is, and will remain the basic and central cause for all the Arab and Islamic countries.
He went on saying "It is deplorable hurtful to see that our Palestinian brethren are facing, for over six decades, killings, assassinations, destruction and displacement due to the aggressive practices of Israel's and use of internationally banned lethal weapons not to mention the settlement activities, the Judaization of Jerusalem and digging tunnels under the Al-Aqsa Mosque." He pointed that Israel has always been using weak excuses to launch brutal aggression on the Palestinian People, killing hundreds and destroying infrastructures.
The United Nations' resolutions are only ink on papers for Israel, he said adding that the sword of international legitimacy is drawn if these resolution were against an Islamic country.
He expressed hope that the conference would achieve its objectives and take effective decisions on the current situation to meet the aspirations of the Islamic peoples.
HE the Advisory Council Speaker extended thank to the Islamic Republic of Iran's president and people for hosting this important conference and for the Iranian Advisory Council speaker Ali Larijani and the council members for the hospitality and organization of this meeting.
