Qatar welcomes choice of new Iraq's leadership

The State of Qatar has welcomed the election of Mr. Fuad Masoum as the new president of Republic of Iraq, Mr. Saleem Al-Jubouri as President of the House of Representatives, and Dr. Haider Abadi assignment to form the new Iraqi government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement expressed Qatar's hope that the formation of a new Iraqi government, would be the starting point towards forming a comprehensive national government that includes all components of the Iraqi people, stressing the need to adhere to the national dialogue as a platform to discuss the real priorities of Iraq.
The Ministry also expressed the hope that this will be a step towards maintaining the independence of Iraq, its security and stability, stressing the need to overcome any divisions that would threaten the security and sovereignty of Iraq.
