
Upon the high directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani held a meeting at the Emiri Diwan with a number Their Excellences members of the distinguished government to follow up the progress of work in the areas of economic activity and to closely monitor projects related to economic development in the State.
HE the Prime Minister stressed the importance of completing the projects entrusted to them and urged them to adhere to time schedules and delivery plans, and of notifying him as early as possible if there are any obstacles or problems hampering the implementation or causing any delay in delivery dates.
HE the Prime Minister issued directives and decisions that included the provision of stores, logistics areas, economic areas and industrial sector, through the setting of specific dates for the awarding and launching of tenders and directed that immediate solutions should be found for obstacles that may face them. He also issued directives for dealing with workers housing projects in the state in a new way through a special committee of the Ministry of Municipality to be assigned to prepare a comprehensive budget for lands needed by the state during the next five years.
He also mandated the Minister of Economy and Commerce to set a promotional plan for economic sectors that should be developed in the state through the private sector, a full comprehensive assessment of of the tourist activity during the coming period with strategic support means to serve and enhance this vital activity. HE the Prime Minister also entrusted the Minister of Economy and Commerce to draw up a plan to raise the activity of capital and stock exchange markets in the coming period.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior approved the fodder projects for food security and the start of the first agricultural and food gathering between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Ministry of environment. The Minister also issued directives for the start of the implementation of three new central markets to serve business service for citizens.
