
HE the Minister of Justice Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Muhannadi underlined Wednesday the importance of the citizens' participation in the Central Municipal Council elections, which represent an embodiment and consolidation of the values of justice, equality and freedom, and participation in the national development.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion, HE the Minister of Justice highlighted the keenness of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani that each Qatari citizen must be engaged in and represent the country's national development.
HE the Minister of Justice noted that the state has provided all legal guarantees to promote community participation in development. Article (42) of the Constitution provides that the State "guarantees the right to elect and be elected to the citizens, according to the law." He pointed out that this election is the fifth municipality elections in the state, which confirms the maturity and awareness of the Qatari citizen, as well as the maturity of the candidates and their understanding of the importance of this Council, and their determination to contribute to the national development through development programs and projects that they would provide and propose during the Council meetings.
HE the Minister of Justice hailed the great efforts exerted by the Ministry of the Interior, represented by the National Elections Commission, to inform and educate voters and candidates in the Central Municipal Council elections about their rights and duties, and the judges who oversee the conduct of these elections.
HE the Minister of Justice Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Muhannadi wished everyone success, and those who will win to serve their country under the wise policies of Qatar's wise leadership.
