
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairman of the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Thursday presided over part of the Congress' plenary session which discussed agenda item 4 on international cooperation, including at the regional level, to combat transnational organized crime.
The session started with a review of agenda item 4 most prominent topics tabled at the session to enrich discussions and the United Nations efforts aimed to bring the world together in the form of global agreements and conventions signed and welcomed by a majority of states.
Participants at the session underlined the conference's success in promoting cooperation, economic assistance and the upgrading of awareness in the countries of origin, transit and destination countries as well as opening up projects for the youth with a view to eliminating unemployment, developing local legislations that allow dismantling gangs and guaranteeing rights of victims.
