
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday said that rejecting a raft resolution by the UN Security Council on Palestinian statehood is not the end of efforts to end to the Israeli occupation.
In a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Palestinian Fatah movement, Abbas asserted that the Palestinian Authority would continue its endeavors to regain the Palestinian rights.
"We would never waver, tire, or falter until getting the Palestinian right to have an independent state with al-Quds as its capital," Abbas said.
The president stressed the importance of the Palestinian national unity as well as the reconstruction of Gaza.
"We are keen on achieving our goal whatever costs we incur," he said, adding "we are sure of getting freedom and victory."
