Residents of the Syrian Rif-Dimishq area, which has been cleared of terrorist control, began returning to their homes on a mass scale, head of the Damascus province reconciliation group Maj. Gen. Aleksander Linkov was quoted on Friday by Sputnik News Agency.
"You can say the numbers are impressive, it is clear that civilians are returning to their homes. The fact that Russia delivers timely humanitarian assistance plays an important role, everyone is grateful to the Russian people," Linkov said.
Russian-Syria humanitarian cargo has been delivered to the town of Babbila south of Damascus as part of the national reconciliation process. The town has recently been freed from Nusra Front jihadist militants.
