A Royal Decree was issued on Sunday appointing Major General Mohmoud Freihat as chairman of the joint chiefs-of-staff as of October 2 2016.
Another Royal Decree was issued accepting the resignation of the King's Advisor for Military Affairs and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Al Zaben as of October 2, 2016.
