Russia's Foreign Ministry said Monday the Syrian settlement was in focus of a telephone conversation between Russian and Saudi Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Adel al Jubeir, TASS reported.
"The two ministers exchanged views on the regional agenda with a special focus on the situation around Syria," the ministry said.
"Lavrov spoke for ensuring maximally representative nature of a meeting of the Syrian opposition due to be held in Riyadh within days. The meeting is called to help Staffan de MIstura, the special envoy on Syria of the United Nations secretary general, form a free opposition delegation to talks with the Syrian government," it added.
"The sides also discussed plans of further work within the international Syria support group, including its another meeting to address problems related to the formation of a list of terrorist organization in the territory of Syria," the ministry said.
